Salted Caramel Eggnog

Ingredients (for 2 bottles)

  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 can caramel sweetened condensed milk (Salko)
  • salt to taste
  • 500 mililiters of rum (1 bottle)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Egg Base:

  1. In a heatproof bowl, whisk the egg yolks and powdered sugar until combined.
  2. Place the bowl over a pot of simmering water (double boiler) and whisk continuously for 5 minutes, until the mixture thickens slightly and becomes pale and creamy.

2. Add the Flavorings:

  1. Remove the bowl from the heat and whisk in the caramel sweetened condensed milk (Salko) until smooth.
  2. Add a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness and enhance the caramel flavor. Adjust to taste.

3. Incorporate the Rum:

  1. Gradually whisk in the rum until fully combined and smooth.
  2. Taste and adjust the salt if needed.

4. Bottle the Eggnog:
Pour the eggnog into two sterilized 500 ml bottles using a funnel. Seal tightly and refrigerate.


Serving Suggestions
