Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cake Batter

Preheat your oven to 180°C. Grease and line two round cake pans (20 cm) with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together all the dry ingredients. The coffee enhances the chocolate flavor, making the cake even more intense. Then add all the wet ones.

Stir gently until a smooth, lump-free batter forms.

Step 2: Bake the Cake

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans. Smooth the tops and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Step 3: Prepare the Chocolate Frosting

In a mixing bowl, beat the unsalted butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add the melted dark chocolate and continue mixing until smooth. Slowly incorporate powdered sugar, adjusting the amount to your desired sweetness and consistency.

Step 4: Assemble the Cake

Once the cakes are completely cooled, spread a generous layer of chocolate frosting on top of one cake layer. Place the second cake layer on top and frost the entire cake, smoothing out the sides and top for an elegant finish.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

Let the cake set for at least 30 minutes before slicing. Enjoy a rich, velvety bite of this moisty masterpiece with a cup of coffee or a glass of milk. Each bite is pure chocolate bliss!
